Imogene + Willie, lead by Matt and Carrie Eddmenson, is based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Named for Carrie's maternal grandparents, Imogene + Willie jeans are constructed with love from historical Cone Mills denim. Carrie and Matt share a long and varied history in the fashion industry. Both started their careers at Sights Denim Systems, formerly the world's preeminent denim development laboratory and premium finisher, located in Henderson, Kentucky. Collectively, Carrie and Matt have been making jeans for over 20 years, but put great emphasis on developing a well-rounded collection extending beyond blue jeans.
At age 11, they met as schoolmates in Henderson, Kentucky. After high school, they went their separate ways until 2003, when they found themselves back in their hometown, working for Sights. Love blossomed, and they married in 2006. In 2009, Matt and Carrie left Kentucky for Nashville, where Imogene + Willie was born. The shop is located in a renovated old service station and is always bustling with friends, family, pattern makers, sewers and their dog Lale.
