Dream Collective, Kathryn Bentley's line of high-end costume jewelry, sends us back in time to a more primitive era. Like ancient relics from a prehistoric age, Bentley's pieces are wrought from rudimentary elements such as oxidized brass and bone, wood and antique African beads. With references to indigenous cultures and primordial forms Dream Collective combines roughly hewn shapes and raw textures with natural, subdued tones for a primal, earthy delicacy.
Bentley moved from New York City to Los Angeles in 2007 after growing tired of the concrete and hectic pace. Since moving to Los Angeles she responds to the gentler climate taking inspiration from the desert's open landscape and the history of native american cultures such as Anasazi pottery and Navajo rugs. All Dream Collective pieces are handmade in California.
