Demy Lee wanted to create what she most appreciated in her own closet, something she reached for every day – cashmere sweaters. Launched for Fall 2007, Demylee focused exclusively on women’s cashmere knits that combined novelty and trend with wearable sophistication. Demy Lee moved to New York City from her native Korea when she was fifteen, and later graduated from Parsons School of Design.
Demylee’s design-driven, stylish look was garnered from Demy’s years of experience as a women’s collection designer at Calvin Klein, GAP, and later at Tory Burch, where she played a key role in launching the brand. Always a perfectionist, Demy learned everything she could about cashmere upon starting her line, from the ideal climate for the Inner Mongolian goats that are used, to fiber length and yarn processing. The result was impeccable production quality.
